I am a long-time genealogist, researching my ancestry since the 1970s, and I have a genealogy webpage, Anne’s Genealogy, where I have put some of the information that I have found. What is missing from my webpage is the story behind the tombstone, or the birth certificate, or the exciting find. The reader does not know, from looking at one of my webpages, the blood, sweat and tears – or blind luck – that was part of the search, nor the joy in finally finding a marriage, a 9th cousin who happened to be one of my oldest friends, nor the pleasure of visiting the site where one of my ancestors used to live. I hope to share this side of the story in my blog.
